All Four Ohio Democratic U.S. House Members Have Endorsed Kathleen

COLUMBUS, OH – Today Congresswomen Marcia Fudge (OH-11) and Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), join Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) and Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13), to endorse State Representative Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) in her campaign for Secretary of State.

“Kathleen Clyde knows it’s essential to our democracy that we protect every Ohioans’ fundamental right to vote, but politicians in Washington and in Columbus continue pushing voter suppression bills that are designed to silence the voices of Ohioans. This is unconstitutional and unacceptable” said Congresswoman Marcia Fudge.  “Kathleen has led the fight against these attacks and we need her leadership now more than ever. That’s why I’m proud to be supporting Kathleen’s campaign for Secretary of State.”

“Kathleen understands just how important it is to end gerrymandering and bring fair districts back to Ohio,” said Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur.  “For far too long, politicians have put their own interests before Ohio workers, families and communities but Kathleen is committed to ensuring that every Ohioans voice is heard and every Ohioans vote is counted. I am pleased to endorse Kathleen Clyde’s candidacy to serve as Ohio’s next Secretary of State. She’s exactly the kind of person we need fighting for us in Columbus.”

“I’m so grateful to have the support of both Congresswoman Marcia Fudge and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur,”said Rep. Kathleen Clyde. “Both are true public servants who have stood up for all Ohioans and I look forward to working alongside them as Ohio’s next Secretary of State.”

Rep. Kathleen Clyde announced her candidacy for Ohio Secretary of State in May 2017. While in the legislature, she has been a strong advocate for redistricting reform and voting rights. She has also fought against Senate Bill 5 and other attacks on working families. She currently represents the 75th Ohio house district in Portage County.
